I just had this idea. How about program beams in such a way that if beams from two separate models are in contact for too long (lets say for eg. 5 sec) The game would temporarily disable collisions between those two models (or one of them?)for a couple of seconds so that they could disconnect again. I'm not a programer, maybe it's a dumb idea but it doesn't hurt anyone to share it. Does it? I guess it's kind of similar to detecting immobilized cars in some scenarios.
